Meet The Physicians


Gail Cookingham, M.D.

Dr. Gail A. Cookingham, M.D., M.S.B.A., received a BS in nutrition from Michigan State University and an M.D. from St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and an allergy and immunology fellowship at Detroit Medical Center. She received an M.S.B.A. from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. She is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a past delegate to Michigan State Medical Society representing Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society. She is a past President of the Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society. Her allergy and asthma practice locations are Port Huron and Flint Township. Her special interests include gluten sensitivity, food allergy, eczema, urticaria, and asthma, as well as other allergic conditions. She cares for both adult and pediatric patients.


Joel Beene, M.D.

Dr. Joel A. Beene, M.D. is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and St. Louis University School of Medicine. He performed an internal medicine residency at St. Louis University Medical Center and an allergy and immunology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. His practice locations are Flint Township and Birch Run.


Cory E. Cookingham, Sr., M.D.

Dr. Cory E. Cookingham, Sr., M.D. was the founder of Cookingham Allergy and Asthma Associates. Dr. Cookingham was a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed pediatric and allergy and immunology training at the University of Michigan Medical Center and was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He was a past President of the Michigan Allergy Society. Additionally, he served as President of the Genesee Valley Lung Association, Director of the Michigan Lung Association, and President of the Flint Rotary Club. Dr. Cookingham established his medical practice in 1958. He retired in March 2012. Dr. Cookingham died June 4, 2016.
